Our social commitment is characterised by social innovation, a strong EVP (Employee Value Proposition) and long-term inclusion schemes. They apply to all our business lines.

A company committed to equal opportunities

We are committed to develop awareness among our teams in order to fight against all forms of discrimination, and establish clear rules and protocols for the inclusion of women, people of all origins and social backgrounds, and people from a variety of educational backgrounds, regardless of where they live, their age or sexual orientation, from the moment they are recruited and integrated, and throughout their career at SOCOTEC.

Our role is also to promote fair access to employment and training so that everyone can find their place, in order to work towards a more sustainable society.

Our roadmap

We want to take a proactive, pioneering approach in three areas in order to step up our commitment in relation to social development:

  • Continuing our efforts to promote mentoring and apprenticeship programs for young people;
  • Employing young people through specific onboarding initiatives & training in each country;
  • Increasing gender diversity in all our business lines through practical action plans.

Commitment to employing young people through a social inclusion program

SOCOTEC is an inclusive company. We firmly believe that we can promote employment among young people and people who are struggling to find employment by offering technical training that is accessible to all kinds of profiles.

The SOCOTEC Group has launched the " REBOND FAVORABLE " programme which aimed at young people who have dropped out of school and have no qualifications, to give them access to training and a job.

 This scheme is a bet on social innovation by creating a favourable and comprehensive learning environment for the professions of technical electrical inspector, environmental measurement assistant and certifier-measurer in existing buildings. These training courses are unique and exclusive to SOCOTEC.

 This approach originally echoed France’s Recovery Plan and its Youth Plan : #1jeune1solution (#1youth1solution). It is based on tailor-made learning solutions.

 This 9- to 12-month programme enables young people to secure a permanent contract with SOCOTEC and enter the world of work. If  they achieve their training programme, then SOCOTEC pays the driving licence and provides them with a company car to go to the client’s sites , Indeed, the jobs we are targeting are based on inspection or measurement assignments to be carried out at our customers' sites.

  • 23 branches are taking part in this experiment, which is unique in the profession ;
  • 36 mentors are involved in supporting and coaching on-the-job the apprentices ;
  • 113 young people engaged in the programme in France since 2020.
  • 6 new cohorts of 8/9 trainees each, with 16 positives outcomes at the end of the program in 2025.

SOCOTEC UK is committed to building an inclusive culture that supports employees from diverse backgrounds. Diversity is a strength and SOCOTEC UK actively strives to create an environment where all employees feel valued and respected.

To achieve this, a range of initiatives have been implemented, such as unconscious bias training, diversity and inclusion workshops, and employee resource groups.

A partnership has also been established with a UK organisation called Fedcap, which enables SOCOTEC UK to help disadvantaged people and the long-term unemployed back into work. Two people have been placed in SOCOTEC's Uxbridge laboratory through Fedcap. SOCOTEC UK named Employer of the Year and awarded Disability Confident Leader (Level 3)

As a result of this partnership with Fedcap, SOCOTEC UK was named Employer of the Year at the ERSA Awards and has been awarded Disability Confident Leader (Level 3), the highest level of the UK government scheme;.

SOCOTEC Italia is launching the Geophysical Research Academy, a paid professional training program to train technicians specialized in marine geophysics and data acquisition. This program aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and fieldwork.

The training lasts 320 hours over approximately 5 months, starting in February 2026 in Sorrento, with 80 hours of theory and 240 hours of practical work on real missions. Participants receive a 6-month fixed-term contract during the training, with the possibility of a permanent contract for selected profiles at the end. The academy targets unemployed individuals, graduates from nautical institutes or STEM fields, attracted to the marine environment, mobility, and operational work.
