SOCOTEC strengthens its leadership with two major new contracts supporting building safety, sustainability and water quality

SOCOTEC, a leading independent trusted third party in compliance, performance and resilience, announces two major wins that strengthen its role in supporting infrastructure safety and sustainability, as well as environmental transparency.

  • In the Netherlands, SOCOTEC Netherlands will deliver a six-year program to record and assess damages across more than 100,000 inspections in the Groningen area, mobilising around 100 specialists from 2026 within SOCOTEC Surveying & Monitoring, a leading trusted third-party in the Netherlands.
  • In the United Kingdom, SOCOTEC UK & Ireland will deploy 740 water-quality monitoring stations over five years for Yorkshire Water, providing independently collected real-time data made public within one hour under Section 82 of the Environment Act 2021.

SOCOTEC Netherlands signed a multi-million-euro contract with IMG.

Selected by the Groningen Mining Damage Institute (IMG), SOCOTEC Netherlands will conduct 100,000+ inspections over six years, with ~100 specialists deployed from 2026. Delivered by SOCOTEC Surveying & Monitoring, which combines SOCOTEC Bouw Risico Management (formerly Hanselman) and Vermeer Expertise, the scope integrates claims recording, building inspections, risk management, applied metrology and monitoring to support the safe recovery of structures across Groningen and Drenthe. With over 500 employees spread across 12 offices, SOCOTEC Netherlands offers expertise in the fields of building performance, geotechnics, the environment, risk management, and damage assessment.

 

SOCOTEC UK and Ireland, an established leading trusted third party in the built environment with 2,500 experts and 48 offices, signs a multi-million-pound Water Quality Monitoring contract with Yorkshire Water.

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland will deliver a Data-as-a-Service solution under Section 82 of the Environment Act 2021, covering the procurement, installation, maintenance and calibration of 740 stations over five years. Leveraging the AquaHawk suite, the programme ensures independent, reliable, real-time data that becomes publicly available within one hour, strengthening transparency and environmental accountability around water quality.
