As part of the EPR2 program launched by EDF, SOCOTEC is involved — as part of a consortium — on the three identified sites: Penly, Gravelines and Bugey, and potentially on new projects that may be launched in Europe whose start occurs before the end of the contract.
Our experts place their know-how at the service of the quality and safety of infrastructures, from the design phases through to the execution of works.

Project details
The program EPR2 (European Pressurized Reactor 2) is a French project for the revival of civil nuclear power, launched by EDF to respond to energy challenges of sovereignty and security of supply. It plans the construction of six next-generation reactors on three identified sites in France: Penly, Gravelines and Bugey.
Description of the tasks entrusted
The experts from SOCOTEC had already taken part in the first EPR project of Flamanville, supporting the securing of various civil-engineering aspects. For these new projects, SOCOTEC is part of a consortium responsible for assisting project management by controlling and validating technical characteristics, during the study phase and throughout the completion of works.
