Gérard Rousseau joins SOCOTEC on 1 June in the role of Director, Industry. He reports to Jean-Marc Fort, COO, International, Industry and External Growth and member of the Group’s Executive Committee.
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and of ISAE-SUPAERO, France’s national aerospace engineering school, Gérard Rousseau began his career in 1989 at the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA). He spent 10 years there, working chiefly on the RAFALE fighter aircraft programme.
2002 saw him move to engineering group Setec, where he was in charge of developing the energy/industry sector and was a member of the Management Board. With direct responsibility for 500 employees and revenue of €50 million, he served as Chairman and CEO of Planitec, President of Setec IS, and President of Planitec BTP.
SOCOTEC’s Industry business line is responsible for overseeing quality on industrial projects through its subsidiaries SOCOTEC Power Services, SOCOTEC Oil & Gas, CTE Nordtest (inspection and non-destructive testing) and DEMA (studies and scientific calculation). Employing 500 staff and generating revenue of €52 million, these activities mainly serve the nuclear and oil & gas sectors.
Gérard Rousseau’s task is to work in synergy with SOCOTEC’s other business lines to extend these service offerings to other industrial sectors.
