The inauguration of the new offices in Casablanca on 10 April 2019 proved to be the ideal occasion for the Moroccan teams to tell their customers and partners all about the newly created subsidiary focusing specifically on infrastructures in Morocco.
SOCOTEC, the leading building inspection firm in Morocco with a track record of close to 75 years, carries out over 1,100 TIC services every year through its eight agencies with a considerably high number of iconic and prestigious references in its project portfolio.
Led by Taoufiq Daoudi for the last 15 years, the teams deliver support and guidance to companies in all sectors of industry throughout the service life of their assets. The teams not only check construction projects for quality and compliance with regulations, but also prevent worksite risks and check equipment at tertiary and industrial sites. SOCOTEC also provides environmental impact assessments, training and management system certification services alongside SOCOTEC Certification France. The subsidiary has long been involved in Morocco's infrastructure sector and has lent its expertise to several large-scale projects, including the Udayas Tunnel and the Casablanca and Rabat Salé airports, and has inspected 500 bridges across the country. Creating the dedicated SOCOTEC Infrastructure Maroc subsidiary reflects the Group's determination to give its services greater exposure in the market and become the Group's technical platform for the African continent.
Hervé Montjotin, CEO of the SOCOTEC Group, explains: "We are extremely proud of our strong presence in Morocco and our local reputation as a benchmark. We are looking to take full advantage of our assets, the driving force created by our new offices and our new Infrastructures subsidiary, which dovetail with the SOCOTEC Group's ambition of achieving leadership status in the TIC1 sector for construction and infrastructures by 2020."
